The Lucknow Development Authority was established under Section 4 of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973, through Government Notification No. 282/XXXVII-2-211(8)-72, dated 13.09.1974.

Functions of the Authority

As per Section 7 of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973, the objectives of the Authority's establishment are as follows:

  • Construction of residential buildings, shops, and commercial centers, with a special focus on providing housing facilities for economically weaker sections.
  • Encouraging planned development of the designated development area.
